British oldies: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, The Who, The Police, Pink Floyd, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Cream, Kate Bush, The Smiths, The Kinks, The Animals, The Moody Blues, Elton John, Deep Purple, Genesis Other British acts: Oasis, Muse, Radiohead, Coldplay, Adele, Florence and the Machine, Duffy, Amy Winehouse, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, Jessie J, Biffy Clyro, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, The XX, Bullet for my Valentine, Asking Alexandria, Bring me the Horizon, The Kooks, Mumford and Sons Foreigner (Lead singer is British), Bee Gees (All the 3 brothers were born and raised in England and have British accents but moved to Australia when they adults), AC/DC (Most members are Scottish and English, there's only one Australian drummer), Fleetwood Mac (Lead male singer Mick Fleetwood is British) Jimi Hendrix Experience (American), The Killers (American), The Pretenders (American), Kylie Minogue (Australian) were all formed in UK, we don't consider them English though. So why the Bee Gees are considered Australian even though they are British is beyond me. Why do other countries claim British bands as their own so much? Especially Australia? As a Brit, I have to admit, I have a soft spot for Americans. I love American people in general and most of my favorite singers and bands are American, including Guns N Roses and Aerosmith and lots of others. But yeah, the Brits invented the telephone, internet, movies, TV, ect... Queen? The Beatles? The Rolling Stones? The Who? The Police? Adele? Pink Floyd? Def Leppard? Coldplay? Oasis? Radiohead? You can't get much better than that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymkx3P3lAEQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXOOwNS2qk0... Read More »
